Illustrations for Officerstidningen - a union magazine for officers employed by the Swedish armed forces - about foreign contracts and guidelines for terms of employment;

Today, around 90 defense force employees serve on foreign contracts for the Headquarters, but the number will be greatly increased with NATO membership. The Swedish Armed Forces have started a dialogue about certain changes in the agreement, including what applies to accompanying partners.

The partner accompanying the person serving on the URA agreement does not receive a pension provision during the time abroad. How big the loss will be in the end varies from person to person, but for someone who has been away for several years, the loss may be quite substantial.
Serving on a foreign staff for a period of their career is something that attracts many employees of the armed forces. But the conditions for those who go vary and the negotiation managers at the Officers' Association believe that clearer criteria are needed for which premises should apply.
